Description

The City of Chandler Police Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Forensic Scientist. This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits. This position will have the option of working a 5x8 schedule Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or a 9x80 schedule, from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Forensic Scientist I Minimum Qualifications ($55,390 – $75,358 annually)
• Bachelor's Degree with major courses of study in Chemistry, Biology, Forensic Science, or a closely related physical or natural science with a minimum of twenty (20) semester hours of chemistry; and
• Valid Arizona Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which meets the minimum qualifications.

Forensic Scientist II Minimum Qualifications ($63,419 – $87,869 annually)
• Bachelor's Degree with major courses of study in Chemistry, Biology, Forensic Science, or closely related physical or natural sciences with a minimum of 20 semester hours of chemistry; and
• Four (4) years forensic laboratory analysis experience with a working expertise in at least one (1) forensic science discipline;
• Valid Arizona Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which meets the minimum qualifications.

Forensic Scientist III Minimum Qualifications ($73,306 – $102,628 annually)
• Bachelor's Degree with major courses of study in Chemistry, Biology, Forensic science, or closely related physical or natural sciences with a minimum of 20 semester hours of chemistry; and
• Must have seven (7) years of experience as a forensics examiner in a recognized forensic laboratory with working expertise in two (2) forensic disciplines;
• Valid Arizona Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
• Arizona POST General Instructor Certification within one (1) year of hire or promotion date;
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which meets the minimum qualifications.
